Digital Cameras – Smart Gadget to Store Special Moments

They are used to capture video and still photography, digitally by recording images. They are glossy and shiny, and present numerous amenities.

The Pros

1. They store pictures digitally, using detachable cards. One can buy a sole photo storage card that will permit you to take about 360 pictures. In a normal film, that consists of 15 rolls. A removable storage card is small and can be easily carried anywhere

2. After you capture a picture, you can see the view instantly. Now with this technology, you don’t have to worry about how you look or your eyes being closed, if you’re not satisfied with it you can always take more picture according to your needs.

3. Unlike the normal camera, the digital camera comes with the option of ‘deleting’ your unwanted videos/pictures. You can take as many photos as you like without the fear of wasting your film.

4. You never have to publish a single photo you take. You can save all your pictures easily on the computer and print the ones you really like. This saves the trouble of disposing off the bad ones.

5. Many of these cameras are quite handy. Since they don’t require space for film etc, they are very lightweight and small. Some cam?s are as small are a credit card but slightly thicker. They can easily be carried in pouches, handbags etc.

The drawbacks

1. Digital cameras are like mini computers. Yet the easy ones come with numerous operations, settings, techniques, buttons etc. Day by day, competitors launch new cameras with new features in order to cut down competition, this addition of new features means that the customer now has to learn how to operate them accordingly.

2. The most convenient way of sharing your pictures is by uploading them on the internet. There are quite a few web sites that permit uploading of pictures and then ordering prints. If you have a slow internet connection i.e. dial up, then uploading pictures might be a time consuming and slow process.

3. These cameras use typical AA batteries. Some of them also use specific rechargeable batteries made only for that specific camera. They are disreputable for consuming A LOT of battery. A regular film camera’s battery can run up to 5 years. Digital Cams batteries will run out depending on its use, the amount of usage determines the amount of battery consumed. Rechargeable batteries and backup batteries are a must for such cameras.

4. The cost of such a camera depends on its features. A normal film camera would cost around $100-$200, on the other hand the digital cam cost $250 ‘ onwards depending on the features and additional costs of storage cards can cost up to $70. Film cameras are cheaper.

5. Digital photographs create huge files. An undersized hard drive will fill up instantly. A sluggish computer can make the procedure of viewing photos annoying. In order to save your pictures, you must have sufficient features in your home computer

Digital Signage – Customize Marketing Campaigns Based on Consumer Interaction

Here’s an interesting concept: Base in-store promotions on what shoppers actually want, not what some marketer thinks they want. That’s the bottom line on findings from the recent consumer intentions and intended actions survey from Worthington, OH, -based BIGresearch.

Survey findings, released in May at the Promotion Marketing Association’s first annual Shopper Marketing Summit in Minneapolis, show something that –while seemingly obvious– often goes overlooked: every retailer has a unique customer base. In other words, not all grocery shoppers are alike. Nor are all sporting goods customers, clothing buyers, house ware hunters, and on and on.

For example, BIGresearch found 71.6 percent of Kroger shoppers say coupons sway what they buy, while 59.2 percent of Safeway shoppers say they influence their purchasing decisions. Such insights into one’s customers are invaluable to marketers as building blocks for marketing campaigns, according to BIGresearch senior VP Kim Rayburn.

So if understanding what factors influence shoppers to make their buying decisions is so important, why aren’t shoppers constantly polled by clipboard-carrying researchers traversing the aisles of stores or springing out from between the discount racks? Part of the answer could be attributed to the cost of doing research, some to not wanting to annoy, and thus drive away shoppers, and perhaps a bit to respect for the privacy of shoppers.

What marketers need is a tool to help with customer researcher to inform the direction of their campaigns but doesn’t cost too much or drive inconvenienced shoppers from stores before they make their purchase.

Interestingly, interactive hybrid digital signage can play an important role in determining the desires, habits, likes and dislikes of customers. Interactive digital signage combines the strength of linear content presentation in attracting an audience with the interactivity normally associated with a kiosk. At little less discussed aspect of the interactive component is the ability to collect data about the customers’ request.

Consider the power of tracking how interested consumers are in a special offer, the types of coupons they seek out, how much money they are interested in spending, the types of items they’re interested in at certain times of the day –the list goes on and on. In the hands of a skilled marketer, such information is invaluable, forming the basis for future marketing campaigns based on the real-world consumer data.

With the right bit of programming, interactive hybrid digital signs can record such data, store it and send it at any desired interval -weekly, daily, hourly or even minute by minute- to marketers who can use it to strategically map out far-reaching campaigns or simply tweak existing digital signage marketing messages to take advantage of opportunities as they arise.

Years ago it was not uncommon to be approached in a shopping mall by a lady or gentleman with a clipboard who asked for a bit of cooperation in participating in marketing surveys. Today, similar data can be collected in a far subtler manner simply by recording the selections consumers make when they interact with a hybrid interactive digital sign. Doing so will equip savvy marketers with the information they need to succeed while their less informed competition continues to struggle in refining their marketing approach.

What to Do When My Computer Is Running Very Slow?

Computers are expected to perform higher than par, and when they don’t we tend to get angry and irritable. Add to that the fact that we don’t know what causes the computer’s poor performance, and then we become frustrated. For those with money to spare, all they do is to replace their present computers with a new model with higher specifications. However, not everyone can do that so when my computer is running very slow I know that I have to troubleshoot the problem myself or just ask an expert to look into it.

So what happens when my computer is running very slow? After some time, a computer’s performance decreases because it has run its course especially when it has been bought three years ago yet. Sometimes it needs some upgrading to it like additional RAM or just plain maintenance to fix the problem. Whatever the reasons may be, when my computer is running very slow I know it’s the time for me to seriously look into the problem so that it can be solved right away.

An essential feature of the computer’s operating system is its computer registry. Not all users can manage resolving this issue, hence you should seek a person with more know how to assist you. As years go by most computer files get corrupted somehow and more often than not these corrupted files affect the settings that have previously helped in its performance. When my computer is running very slow oftentimes these corrupted files are the reason for its poor performance. So I get cleanup software and use it to scan the files saved on my computer. Additionally, this software at the same can fix whatever problem is present in the computer.

The next thing that I look into when my computer is running very slow is to check my hard drive space. All files are auto saved into a computer and uses up all available space and this in turn will slow down all the processes of the computer. Therefore, as a user you should routinely check your computer’s hard drive and see whether there’s a need to do clean up of files. Unwanted and unnecessary files sitting on the hard drive should be permanently deleted. Afterward, a better performance will be seen by you.

Lastly, remove all spywares that might have been unintentionally saved in your computer. Most spyware works automatically when one turns on the computer. Others even mimic the processes that you do and this will certainly slow down your computer. It is quite difficult to detect these spywares. All one can do is to get a spyware program that is reliable and can delete them automatically as well.

All in all, the best thing to do to prevent your computer from slowing down is to perform routine maintenance checkups.

Understanding Cloud Hosting

There is a new type of web hosting that is creating quite a buzz in these days. Its benefits are varied depending on the needs of each individual user but the greatest unanimous benefits are its scalability and cost efficiency.

Enter the new world of cloud hosting; as the term suggests, rather than have a website that is hosted on a single virtual server as we traditionally have, your website is hosted across multiple connected virtual private servers (VPS). This connection to multiple servers increases the processing power of your server infinitely. A good example of this kind of hosting is Google. Google operations, including their searches, are operating under a huge computer network, which people, including you, tap into from their local computers.

This is no longer a business concept anymore and has grown into the fastest growing IT industry segment. It is a fact that, nowadays, many tech companies do not build their data centers anymore, they simply go “cloud.”

The greatest advantages are:

Scalability here allows for faster hardware upgrades, proper load balancing, etc, making website expansion more efficient and can be done with minimum limitations. Whether you need an army of servers or hosting for a simple webpage, the technology is equipped to handle any abrupt changes in your hardware demands. If you do experience crashes, and other hardware related problems, then it is time you got onto the bandwagon and have your website hosted across this network of computers.

Cost is another advantage if you need processing power. You no longer have to reserve massive power to handle a sudden surge in traffic to your website. You are charged according to the amount of computing power used. On slow days you pay less, while on busy days you pay more; you pay for what you use ONLY.

There is a huge disadvantage with this type of server: Security!

You do not know where your data is located and you are therefore not sure who has access to it and if it is safe, because you share the same physical hardware with others. Due to its exponential growth in popularity, many have jumped into this network based hosting without a sound security strategy, leading to serious security concerns. One may not even get advance warning that something is about to go wrong and even in some cases, they do not know if anything has actually gone wrong.
